Australia Having Trouble with Digital Radio

By News Minder at 06/20/08 13:05
Australians are still without a steady form of radio. They are stuck with digital radio which does not even work most of the time. If you are in a building or driving and a building blocks the view of the digital tower then you lose your connection.

Some think that internet radio would be the way to go. If people can get internet on their iPhones pretty much anywhere, why wouldn't the CMA try to partner with an internet company to provide radio service. To read more about Australia's dilemma read, Internet killed the (digital) radio star: Blogs - Full Duplex - ZDNet Australia.

Australian company will be iphone competitors

By News Minder at 06/19/08 11:02
Telstra is showing signs that they too will be releasing the iphone 3G to stores on July 11. The Australian company had previously said that they would not be releasing the phone on this date but they must have changed their minds. For a phone that will allow 98.9 percent of the population to have iphone capabilities, it is probably good that they are releasing it now.

Speculation is that the company will be in competition with Apple, Vodafone and Optus. Maybe this Australian market will be steady good competition for the other companies. To read more about this visit, iTWire - Australia to become most competitive iPhone 3G market with Telstra joining race?.

Phillippine Government Trys to Make Text messaging free

By News Minder at 06/18/08 09:55
The Philippine Government proposed that all text messages be made free for the service users due to rising food and gas prices. The companies that control the texting services do not agree with this plan. They feel that free texting will mean poor service. They say that an increase in texting will clog the network and be less convenient for customers.

In the Philippines, the government has not much control over what these companies do with their services. So it is unlikely that their proposal will be taken to heart by the sms companies. To read more about this visit Philippine carriers willing to reduce SMS fees

By News Minder at 06/17/08 11:45
Software developers in New Zealand have reported trouble with developing software due to low bandwidth. They blame this on quality of the network services. Websites like YouTube would just not be possible over there because of the low bandwidth.

Some companies overseas are becoming closer to customers through voip services that give them american phone numbers. They feel maybe this will make up for extremely slow download times to their partners. To read more about this visit, Computerworld > Software developers suffer from poor network services.

By News Minder at 06/17/08 10:29
I think that in the next 10 years many people will have switched to voip for their phone rather than have traditional phone lines. There are already a bunch of companies out there that offer such services such as Acme Packet.

This goes for businesses too. Acme Packet and Metaswitch, with operates connections for big companies have come up with some sort of agreement to provide better service to their customers. I think that the ip phone services will really be popular with businesses in the future. New iPhone is much Less Than Original

By News Minder at 06/17/08 10:07
Come July 11 all of us with original iPhones will probably be looking for a place to dump them. The new phones that are coming out are between 199 and 299 dollars. The old ones are still being sold on ebay for prices anywhere from 450 to 700 dollars.

So what can you do with an old iPhone. There are places that will buy them online to refurbish them and sell them overseas. It is important thought that all the original pieces be there to get the optimum price. After the new phones come out however, it probably will be hard to get anyone to take an old model.
